RMHC-San Diego Receives Four-Star Rating From Charity Navigator

SAN DIEGO – June 7, 2012 – Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego – a longtime support system for families with hospitalized children being treated at nearby hospitals – has received the prestigious identification as a four-star charity by Charity Navigator.

The largest and most-utilized independent evaluator of charities in North America gave Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego the highest rating available, based on the charity's financial health, accountability and transparency. The four-star rating given to the charity will help donors identify the nonprofit organization as a safe social investment and feel comfortable knowing their generosity goes toward helping families coping with their child's medical crisis.

"The generosity of our donors is what keeps the Ronald McDonald House open for families in need and we want our contributors to know their donations are being used with integrity and ultimately helping those who need it most," said Chuck Day, president and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego.

The Ronald McDonald House of San Diego features 47 overnight guest suites and a Family Care Center, which is open to anyone with a child being treated at a local hospital. The facility serves nearly 20,000 family members each year with a range of programs, including lodging, meals, enrichment activities, computer access, recreational facilities and more.
