We welcome families with seriously ill children to find sanctuary from the hospital during the day at our new Family Care Center. The Family Care Center is a completely unique day use center among Ronald McDonald Houses around the world, that was conceived when the organization examined the most important necessities families need while going through a medical crisis.
Caring for families while they care for their sick child
When a child is sick, parent's and sibling's lives are turned upside down and everyday needs like meals, rest, showers and laundry can become luxuries. The Family Care Center is there to make life easier for the entire family while they face their crisis. Here, anyone with a child in the hospital can get a hot meal in our dining room, take a nap in the day rest room, take a shower, use the laundry facilities and computer lab, exercise in our work out room, reflect in our chapel, even get a hair cut in the beauty salon. Siblings and children can play in the children’s playroom, teen center, outdoor play yard and tricycle track, and take on a game of basketball or hopscotch.
