The "house" is a tribute to the RMHC
cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald
Houses across the world provide a "home away from home"
for families of seriously ill children who are receiving care at
nearby hospitals.

Calling All Cooks! Thanks to everyone who responded
to our volunteer request last month to sign up for our Dinner
Program. May is almost full, and June is filling up. July and August
still have lots of dates to choose from.
Our families benefit every evening from the generosity of our
community who volunteer to help us provide dinner. During the

Friends of RMHC-SD,
Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego is celebrating our 30th
Anniversary throughout 2010!
Our 30th Anniversary is an opportunity for us to look back at our
success, as well as look forward to continuing to build the resources
to reach every family in need of our services. Our new House
was a big step in this direction. But now we need to concentrate on
maintaining and growing a new level of services.

Volunteer Spotlight - John Horning
John Horning owns Promenade Landscaping in Santee.
Several years ago - longer than he can recall now - he started caring
for the grounds of the former Ronald McDonald House on Berger Avenue.
When his boss closed the business, John bought him out and elected to
continue tending the landscaping at the House. His visits required
