2008 Golf Tournament
Come play a Fred Couples and Brian Curley par 70 Championship Golf Course!
August 26th 2008 - The Crosby at Rancho Santa Fe
Elevation changes are the hallmark of the The Crosby and golfers get a bird’s eye view of a number of greens from tee boxes set high in the sky. The highest point on the course is the tee box on the fifth hole, a 423-yard par 4 that offers sweeping views of the property while luck will figure out what club will keep the ball in a fairway that curves to the right nearly 200 feet below.
Four of the course’s par 3s also play downhill, epitomized by the 174-yard 11th hole with its dramatic red rocks and abandoned mine shaft framing a tiny green. The longest par 3 at The Crosby is the 13th hole at 240 yards. Its inviting green sits approximately 100 feet below the tee box. The course’s only par 3 that doesn’t play downhill is the 183-yard 8th hole which features a three-tiered green set into a natural amphitheater of rock formations with a steep ravine full of native chaparral in front.
The entire layout is dramatic, yet fairways are generous and elevation changes and distance between greens and tee boxes make each hole a picturesque experience. The North County San Diego region’s serenity lends itself to a relaxing atmosphere that helps to create golf experiences that continue to challenge and inspire year after year.
Join us for a day of golf, drinks, fabulous food, and an auction.

2008 Gala - "The Journey Home"
Jazz music filled the air as over 250 guests and honorees gathered at the Westin Horton Plaza to enjoy the 2008 Ronald McDonald House Charities Gala "The Journey Home." Guests enjoyed fine food, specialty beverages, and an evening atop one of the finest hotels in San Diego. In short, The Journey Home Gala was a smashing success - Netting $81,200! The Westin was more than a wonderful host! They were a generous partner and sponsor of the event and underwrote the food, beverages, and other expenses. North Island Credit Union continued their generous support, serving as our Title Sponsor and generously donated $25,000! Without the support of the Westin Horton Plaza and North Island Credit Union, The Journey Home would not have been possible.
The Gala is more than a fun-filled evening. It is an opportunity for the charity to show our appreciation to those who supported us in a special way during the previous year. We were pleased to show our appreciation to the people who help us achieve our mission of providing a "home-away-from-home" for ill children and their families while the child receives critical medical care at San Diego area hospitals. Without their support, and yours, the Ronald McDonald House could not provide these services. Our honorees included:
Philanthropist of the Year: Jackie Tucker
Corporations of the Year: Sycuan and Intuit
Charitable Partner of the Year: Las Patronas
Volunteers of the Year: Hiromi Yoshita, Jim Horne, Christina Doyle, and Mark Pescar
RMHC-SD would like to thank over thirty volunteers that helped with the program, especially our planning committee: Lorelei Nielsen, Marianela Camarillo, Megan Camaisa, Jerrod Zertuche, and Chantal Pasag.
RMHC-SD would also like to thank the following sponsors: McDonald's West, Dr. Pepper, The Bama Companies, Best Best and Krieger, Golden State Foods, Fresh Start Bakeries, AMN Healthcare, and Davis Elen. Their financial support and hospitality exceeded our fundraising goals and expectations.

Many thanks to all those who attended the event, bought auction items, funded-a-family, and volunteered.
