We welcome families whose hospitalized child is receiving treatment at any area medical facility to our Ronald McDonald House. Here they find sanctuary from the hospital during the day at our new Family Care Center.  Our Family Care Center, located within the House, came about through careful consideration of what kind of support services are most needed by families going through a medical crisis. It is open during the day to any family with a child admitted for treatment in a local hospital, not just people staying overnight at the Ronald McDonald House.

Caring for families while they care for their sick or injured child

When a child is hospitalized, the lives of parents and siblings are turned upside down. Everyday needs like meals, rest, showers and laundry can fall to the side. Our Family Care Center makes life easier for the entire family as they face their child's medical crisis.


At the Family Care Center in the Ronald McDonald House, families can:

• Enjoy 3 meals daily, free of charge
• Take a nap or a shower after a night at the hospital
• Make use of individual cooking stations to accommodate special dietary needs
• Access online medical information in our Web MD computer room, or use our free Wi-Fi access to stay in touch with family and employers
• Enjoy some fresh air and a connection with nature in our rooftop courtyards
• Enjoy family fun and games, or play sports in the indoor and outdoor recreation areas
• Work off some stress by using our exercise facilities
• Attend educational programs and activities for children and parents
• Obtain referrals to support groups and financial assistance
• Get some much-needed personal care at our free hair salon
• Make use of our interfaith chapel for prayer, reflection, or consultation with chaplains and social workers
