How to Make a Gift:
Gifts can be sent to:
Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, Inc.
2929 Children's Way
San Diego, CA 92123
Suggested language for a will:
"I hereby bequeth [insert amount, percentage of the estate, or "the rest and remainder of my estate"] to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, a not-for-profit corporation, located in San Diego, California, to establish an unrestricted current use fund for the benefit of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego."
Bequests:
Explanation: A gift is given in a will (or living trust) to the Ronald McDonald House through a percentage of the donor's estate, a specific dollar amount, the residual of the estate, or a certain piece of personal property.
Benefits to the Donor:
1) Reduces estate taxes.
2) Donor retains asset for remainder of lifetime.
3) You may choose where your gift is used.
4) Leave a legacy for you and your children/grandchildren.
Benefits to the Charity - At maturity of the will, the asset(s) is distributed to the Ronald McDonald House and used for the purpose designated by the donor.
Example: Sally Smith has been interested in helping families who have sick children, who are staying at the Ronald McDonald House. She has a house in Poway that her heirs have no interest in. She asks her lawyer to name the Ronald McDonald House as the beneficiary. When Mrs. Simpson passes the property is donated to the Charity, her estate receives a tax reduction, and the Ronald McDonald House is able to use the value of the asset to provide hundreds of nights of housing to families right here in San Diego.
